A 37-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after she allegedly drove the wrong way through a McDonald’s drive-thru in Arnold, narrowly missing vehicles that already were in the lane, Arnold Police reported.
The incident happened about 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at the restaurant, 2005 Richardson Road. After the woman allegedly drove a Ford F-150 the wrong direction through the drive-thru and swerved around other vehicles in the line, she stopped in the parking lot, the report said.
Officers who arrived at the scene said the woman appeared intoxicated and initially refused to get out of the pickup. She also answered her cell phone while the officers were asking her to get out of the pickup, according to the report.
The woman eventually got out of the pickup and stumbled, and an officer caught her. She then allegedly shoved the officer, the report said.
Officers subdued the woman and placed her in handcuffs, and she allegedly went limp and had to be carried to the patrol car. She was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and transported to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County for evaluation, according to the report.
Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Arnold Municipal Court for DWI, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer, Capt. Rich Shular said.
