A 36-year-old St. Louis man allegedly threatened another man with a gun before taking the victim’s 2006 Suzuki motorcycle from outside a home in the 4900 block of Jarvis Road north of Hillsboro, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim said he rode to the house at about noon Sept. 12, and at about 1 p.m., went to get his keys from the kitchen table, but they were gone. He said he looked for the keys until about 9 p.m. before deciding to push his motorcycle home and exited the house, the report said.

However, the St. Louis man, who also exited the house, said he could hotwire the motorcycle, which would allow the victim to ride it home. The victim refused to have the motorcycle hotwired, according to the report.

The St. Louis man then allegedly demanded that the victim give him the motorcycle before lifting his shirt, pulling out a pistol and pointing it at the ground. The St. Louis man also allegedly told the victim if he called the police, he would shoot him. The victim said he gave the other man the motorcycle and called his girlfriend for a ride home, the report said.

The victim said the St. Louis man followed his girlfriend’s car after they left the home but eventually headed in a different direction, according to the report.

Investigators believe the St. Louis man took the motorcycle keys that were in the house before stealing the motorcycle, which was valued at $2,000, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

As of Sept. 22, the suspect had not been arrested, and the motorcycle had not been recovered, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
