A 25-year-old St. Ann man reportedly damaged an Arnold Police car while resisting arrest following an alleged shoplifting incident at the Kohl’s store, 2150 Michigan Ave. The incident happened about 2:20 p.m. Feb. 12, Arnold Police reported.

An officer was called to the store after the man allegedly stole a drone and a GPS device, together valued at $850. The man refused to comply with the officer, and while the suspect was pinned against the police car, dented the hood, the report said.

As of Feb. 19, there was not an estimate for the damage to the police car, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.

The man also had a large hunting-style knife on his right hip. After the man was restrained, he was transported to the Police Station and was booked and later released pending application for warrants, according to the report.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for shoplifting, property damage and resisting arrest, Wooldridge said.

The man was with a 27-year-old Jennings woman who was wanted on warrants from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for a probation violation and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office for forgery. She was arrested and held for the other law enforcement agencies, Wooldridge said.
