Joshua Alexander Evans
Joshua Alexander Evans, 25, of Crystal City has been charged with two felonies for reportedly shooting his cousin on Sunday, May 28, at a home on County Road in Crystal City. The alleged shooting victim, Andres Tullock, 26 who has lived in Festus, had non-life-threatening injuries, Crystal City Police reported.
Evans has been charged with domestic assault, a class A felony punishable by 10 to 30 years in prison, and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony that carries a minimum sentence of three years in prison.
He was being held as of this afternoon, May 30, at the Jefferson County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond, authorities reported.
Crystal City Police got a call at 2:35 p.m. Sunday about the shooting, Capt. Mike Pruneau said.
When officers arrived, they found Tullock lying on the bathroom floor with a gunshot wound to the hip, Pruneau said.
“The victim was able to identify the suspect as a relative and gave officers an account of what happened. About an hour and a half later officers were able to make an arrest of the suspect at his residence in Crystal City without incident.”
Tullock was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Pruneau said.
He said the case is still under investigation.
