The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a person of interest in connection with the theft of a car from Enterprise Car Rental, 1121 Gravois Road, in unincorporated Fenton. The 2020 Dodge Charger was stolen between about 6 p.m. Jan. 4 and 6:30 a.m. Jan. 5, and it was recovered three days later, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
An employee told deputies she discovered the keys to the Charger, which was valued at about $29,000, missing Jan. 4, so before she left work that day, she blocked the Charger in the lot with a 2020 Hyundai Elantra, the report said.
On Jan. 5, the Elantra was found with damage to the front bumper, and it appeared someone had struck it while stealing the Charger. An estimate for the damage to the Elantra was not available, according to the report.
The Charge was recovered on Jan. 8 in Centerville, Ill., and returned to the business. As of Jan. 14, the Sheriff’s Office was still seeking the person of interest in the theft, Bissell said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
