A bride-to-be’s wedding bag and other items were stolen from unlocked vehicles parked outside a home in the 3200 block of Wedde Road in Barnhart. The thefts happened between about 9 a.m. March 18 and 7:50 a.m. March 19, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Items were stolen from a 2002 Honda Civic, a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban and a 1996 Ford Ranger. In addition to the wedding bag, which contained receipts, wedding and bridal shower invitations, and an appointment book, stolen items included clothing, a phone charger, loose change and other miscellaneous items, the report said.
The wedding bag was valued at $200. The clothing was worth an estimated at $100, and the rest of the stolen items were valued at about $90 altogether, according to the report.
As of March 25, none of the stolen items had been recovered and there were no suspects, Sheriff’s Office public information coordinator Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
