The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent theft from a shed at the Chancellor Farms mobile home community in the Fenton area.
A 40-year-old Fenton man is a person of interest in the case, said Lt. Gary Higginbotham of the Sheriff’s Office.
The theft was reported at 11:13 a.m. Jan. 7, after someone unlawfully entered the shed in the 700 block of Chancellor Lane and stole a silver and orange Stihl concrete saw valued at $1,000, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
There were no signs of forced entry, and the mobile home employee who reported the theft said only she and another employee had access to the shed, the report said.
As of Jan. 22, the saw had not been recovered, and there were no arrests, Higginbotham said.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
