shattered window

It looks like someone used a sewer lid to smash the driver-side window on a pickup parked outside The Legends Country Club maintenance shed, 435 W. Main St. in Eureka. Nothing was reports stolen from the 1999 Ford F-250, but the damage to the window was estimated at $76, Eureka Police reported.

An employee told police the damage happened between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 19 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 22. It appears the culprit cut a hole in a chain-link fence surrounding the lot and then got onto the property. A sewer lid was found near the pickup, so authorities believe it was used to break the window, the report said.

An estimate for the damage to the fence was not provided, according to the report.

As of Feb. 26, no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
