The Rock Community Fire Protection District is investigating the cause of a brush fire that broke out in a wooded area in the 300 block of Woodland Villas in Arnold. No one was injured and none of the nearby homes were damaged by the blaze, spokeswoman Alyson Barton said.
Rock Fire got a call at 5:23 p.m. Sept. 11 about the fire, and the first firetruck arrived at 5:29 p.m. Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control, and the scene was cleared at 6:16 p.m., the report said.
A man was attempting to put out the fire when firefighters arrived at the condominium community off Missouri State Road, according to the report.
“He was not successful,” Barton said. “We extinguished the fire.”
Arnold Police also responded to the scene.
