Eureka Police are seeking felony charges against a 57-year-old Robertsville man who was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he was stopped on Hwy. 109 near Fifth Street. The man previously pleaded guilty to at least two DWI offenses, Lt. Michael Werges said.
At about 11:10 a.m. Jan. 17, an officer saw the man driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with its lights off on the highway and stopped the SUV. The officer allegedly smelled alcohol on the driver, who appeared intoxicated, the report said.
The driver allegedly failed field tests and was arrested. At the Police Station, the man allegedly registered a .154 percent blood-alcohol content. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit, according to the report.
He was released to a sober driver, and Eureka Police will seek a DWI charge against him through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Werges said.
