A 32-year-old Robertsville man was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine following a domestic disturbance at the Walmart Supercenter, 131 Eureka Towne Center Drive. Officers were called to the store at about 9:45 p.m. Feb. 19, Eureka Police reported.
Police got a report that the man was arguing with a woman in a Jeep Cherokee on the store parking lot. When officers approached the Jeep, they allegedly saw the man put something into a smoking device and then found the man holding a black purse with an orange case on top of it, the report said.
Police allegedly found two glass pipes with burnt residue on them inside the case. The man reportedly said the orange case was his, but the purse was not. The woman, 35, of Glencoe said she was arguing with the man because he wouldn’t give her purse back to her, according to the report.
When officers searched the purse, they allegedly found a white powdery substance believed to be meth inside it. The woman said the substance did not belong to her, the report said.
The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. The woman was not arrested, according to the report.
Depending on results from the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the man through the St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. David Wilson said.
