Sheriff's Office patch

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at a home that is being rehabbed in the 2000 block of Elm Drive in the Arnold area.

Between 5:30 p.m. Aug. 3 and 9:15 a.m. Aug. 4, someone removed a basement window to get inside and stole a power washer, humidifier and a variety of tools from the home, which is in foreclosure, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

Among the stolen tools was a table saw, a radial arm saw, a compound saw and a DeWalt trim gun. In all, the stolen items and missing window were valued at $500, the report said.

When construction crew members showed up to work at the home on the morning of Aug. 4, they found the garage door open and the items missing, and the burglary was reported about 11 a.m. that day, according to the report.

As of Monday (Aug. 10), the stolen items had not been recovered and there were no suspects or arrests, Arnhart said.

He urges anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
