A vacant apartment in the 300 block of West Second Street in Pevely was broken into. It looked like boxes were rifled through, but nothing was reported missing, Pevely Police Chief Mark Glenn said.
He said the owner, an 82-year-old woman, reported the incident at about 2:55 p.m. March 17.
“The owner reported that someone had broken into a vacant apartment that she owned and emptied several boxes that had been packed,” he said. “Pevely officers discovered that a window air-conditioning unit had been moved to gain access to the apartment. After conducting an inventory, the owner advised that nothing appeared missing.”
