A 41-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 25-year-old Pevely woman at an apartment in the 100 block of Pevely Square Drive. The Pevely woman lives in the apartment, and the St. Louis woman is the mother of one of the Pevely woman’s neighbors, said Chief Mark Glenn of the Pevely Police Department.

Glenn said the incident began around 10:30 a.m. July 31.

“The reporting party (the Pevely woman) said that while at work she received a notification on her phone showing someone was ringing her doorbell at her apartment,” Glenn said. “She opened an app and saw her neighbor’s mother standing at the door displaying her middle finger to the camera. She (the Pevely woman) drove home and found the person and an argument ensued.

“They began shoving each other and fell to the floor. Neighbors separated them and called for police.”

Glenn said he didn’t know the nature of the dispute between the women.

He said the St. Louis woman was arrested because she started the fight.

“She was the instigator, hit the other person first,” he said.

Glenn said after the St. Louis woman was arrested, she was released pending application for warrants.

He said Pevely Police will seek assault charges against her.

Glenn said neither woman reported a significant injury, and neither one was transported to a hospital for treatment.
