Timothy Lloyd Blaney, 58, of Pevely has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for taking graphic photos and videos of a girl younger than 5 years old and for sexually molesting her. Blaney also must forfeit his home, where the crime occurred, and he has been ordered to pay $24,960 to cover the costs of counseling for the victim and her family, according to court documents.

Along with surrendering his home, which is valued at about $80,000, Blaney also forfeited four laptops, three cell phones, four hard drives, a tablet, two SD cards, two thumb drives and an SC card as part of plea agreement.

He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sarah E. Pitlyk on Oct. 12, after Blaney pleaded guilty in July to production of child porn in the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Missouri.

In his plea agreement, Blaney admitted to using one or more cell phones to take videos and pictures of the girl, as well as to sexually abusing her, from Oct. 1, 2019, through Aug. 14, 2020. He also possessed child porn and searched for it online, the report said.

The victim told family members about the abuse on Aug. 19, 2020, and her mother reported the abuse to the police. Blaney was acquainted with the child’s family, according to the report.

Officers searched Blaney’s home on Aug. 20, 2020, and during their search, he fled into a wooded area. Blaney was located that day, and an officer had to tackle him to take him into custody, the report said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pevely Police Department investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson handled the case.
