A Pevely man is facing a federal charge for allegedly taking nude photographs of a 4-year-old girl between Aug. 15 and Aug 20, Pevely Police Chief Alan Eickhoff said.
Timothy Lloyd Blaney, 51, was charged in the case on Aug. 21, and was being held Tuesday (Sept. 1) in the St. Louis County Jail in Clayton, according to records from the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Missouri in St. Louis.
Eickhoff said the investigation began after the 4-year-old girl’s father told Pevely Police that Blaney allegedly had taken the photos.
“After collecting the statement from the daughter, who gave details of the incident, the officer was able to obtain a search warrant for the (suspect’s home),” Eickhoff said in a written statement. “The search warrant was executed and several digital storage items were seized, including the suspect’s phone. We contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to assist with searching the contents of the digital devices.”
Authorities allegedly discovered nude photos of the 4-year-old girl on the suspect’s phone, the report said.
Blaney was taken into custody on Aug. 25. He was apprehended in the Arnold area and later transferred to federal custody, Eickhoff said.
