A 43-year-old Pevely man allegedly shot a 31-year-old Festus man at a home in the 8600 block of Cedar Trail west of Pevely. A lawyer representing the Pevely man was working with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office today, March 4, to arrange for his client to be interviewed by deputies, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
He said no one had been arrested as of 1 p.m. today.
The Festus man called deputies at about 9:50 a.m. March 1 and said he had dropped off a mutual friend at the Pevely-area home and got in an argument with the Pevely man, who shot him in his lower body, the report said.
The Festus man called police after he drove away from the home and stopped near the intersection of Sandy Creek and Girl Scout roads, which is near Cedar Trail. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released, Bissell said.
He said no one was at the home when deputies went there after talking to the alleged victim.
