A 31-year-old Pacific man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he was found slumped behind a car’s steering wheel in a Eureka gas station’s parking lot. The incident happened Nov. 9, Eureka Police reported.
At 2:53 a.m., an employee at the Motomart gas station, 5695 Fox Creek Road, called police after attempting to wake the man, who was in a 2006 Dodge Charger. When officers arrived, the man was still slumped over in the driver’s seat, but the car doors were unlocked and officers were able to wake the driver, the report said.
The man appeared intoxicated, and he allegedly told police he had drunk four shots. He was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed, according to the report.
The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he allegedly registered a .109 blood alcohol percent blood-alcohol content, the report said. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit.
The man was booked and released to sober driver with a summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for driving while intoxicated, Capt. David Wilson said.
