Cedar Hill firefighters were called out in the early hours Saturday (Dec. 30) for a shed fire at 8672 Ridge Road in Dittmer.
At 3:05 a.m., the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District got a call about the fire, and when firefighters arrived at 3:12 a.m., the 20-by-20-foot shed was filled with flames, Chief Mick Fischer said.
“It was 100 percent involved when we got there,” he said.
It was cold but not frigid that morning, Fischer added.
“Temperatures were probably in the 20s. It was windy and the cold front was just coming through,” he said.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and were on the scene until 4:28 a.m.
“We put water on it and put it out,” Fischer said.
The cause of the fire was undetermined, he said.
The High Ridge, Hillsboro and St. Clair fire protection districts and the Big River Ambulance District assisted with the call.
