A Silver Strike machine – a game that dispenses quarters – was broken into and $300 was stolen from it at the U Pump gas station, 501 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. The theft happened about 6:15 a.m. Feb. 3, Arnold Police reported.

An unidentified white male allegedly broke the front glass door to the gas station and then smashed the glass on the game machine. The damage to the door and machine was estimated at $500, the report said.

After allegedly stealing $300 from the quarter machine, the man fled the gas station on a purple mountain bike. He was seen on surveillance footage heading toward Arnold City Park, according to the report.

Officers found the bike and $83 near the Arnold Farmers Market inside the park. As of Feb. 11, the rest of the money had not been recovered, and a suspect had not been identified, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said. Anyone with information about the incident should contact Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
