Arnold Police are investigating the theft of a key fob from an SUV parked outside an Arnold roofing business. The key fob belongs to a 48-year-old Columbia, Ill., woman, police reported.

At about 4:45 p.m. July 20, the woman was working at Howard Roofing & Home Improvements, 526 Jeffco Blvd., and saw a silver Ford F-150 that did not have license plates park next to her 2020 Land Rover. The woman said she keeps her key fob inside the Land Rover, the report said.

When no one entered the business, the woman went outside, and she allegedly saw a man sitting in her SUV. She said she yelled at the man, who got out of the Land Rover and into the pickup, which was driven away, according to the report.

The woman discovered the key fob, valued at about $500, was missing. The SUV, which was not stolen, was valued at about $80,000, the report said.

The key fob had not been recovered, and a man allegedly seen in the SUV had not been identified, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
