A man’s body was found in Glaize Creek near the intersection of highways 61-67 and M in Barnhart on Sunday evening (July 22), said Cpl. Matthew Moore of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
As of this morning (July 25), the body had not been identified, Moore said.
He said a passerby noticed the body at 5:11 p.m. Sunday evening, and authorities were called to the scene. The Medical Examiner’s Office took the body.
Moore said this morning that the Sheriff’s Office had an idea who the victim but wasn’t ready to officially identify the man.
“We’re processing everything that was found (when the body was recovered) and waiting to see a Medical Examiner’s Report,” Moore said.
Based on the investigation so far, though, Moore said no foul play is suspected.
