A 66-year-old Eureka man told police his 37-year-old girlfriend, also of Eureka, reportedly drove way with his van after he parked it outside a gas station and got out. The van allegedly was stolen June 6 and was found burned the next day, Eureka Police reported.
The victim called police to the Circle K gas station, 100 Old Towne Drive, at about 12:40 p.m. June 6, after his 2007 Kia Sedona allegedly was stolen. He told police he had been arguing with his girlfriend before pulling into the gas station parking lot, the report said.
The victim also said two men he didn’t know were in the van with them when they arrived at the gas station. The victim said after he got out of the van, the woman moved into the driver’s seat and allegedly drove away with the two men inside, according to the report.
The Highway Patrol found the burned van on June 7. However, Eureka Police did not have information about where the van was found, Sgt. Michael Tapp said.
As of June 19, Eureka Police were still trying to find the woman who allegedly drove away with the van, Tapp said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
