A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of $11,000 in tools from a trailer at a construction site on Red Maple in the Estates at Moss Hollow neighborhood in Barnhart. The trailer was damaged during the theft, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The theft happened between 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 19, when someone cut the locking swing arm on the side door of the trailer to get inside and stole numerous power tools and hand tools, the report said.
Later, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department arrested a male suspect who allegedly was trying to sell the stolen items on Facebook, said Grant Bissell, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Bissell said Sept. 3 he didn’t have the age or address for the suspect, who was released pending application for warrants. He also said he didn’t know what had happened with the stolen items.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
