Eureka Police are investigating the theft of a laptop computer from an unlocked pickup in the 900 block of Emerald Oaks Court. The Dell laptop was worth about $1,500, police reported.
A 58-year-old Eureka man said he parked his 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 in the driveway at the home at about 6:45 p.m. Oct. 11 and when he returned to the pickup at about 8:45 a.m. Oct. 12, the laptop was missing. The man also said the laptop was in a backpack, which also was taken, and gift cards also were missing from the pickup, the report said.
As of Oct. 19, the laptop and other items had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
