Laminia Holt, 27, of the Fenton area has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for shooting and killing her father, Charles Holt of St. Louis County. He was 51 when he was killed on May 22, 2022.
Laminia Holt pleaded guilty on April 28 to second-degree murder, and that same day Jefferson County Div. 1 Circuit Judge Joseph Rathert handed down the sentence, court records show.
According to the probable-cause statement in the case, she shot and killed her father outside a home in the 100 block of Hartford Court in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton. Surveillance video showed Charles Holt walking away from Laminia Holt, who was standing in the driveway. Charles Holt turned around when he got near the home’s front porch, and his daughter walked toward him with her arms raised in a shooting position and fired the gun one time, shooting him in the torso.
When Jefferson County deputies arrived, they found Charles Holt lying in front of the house after he was shot with a .9mm semi-automatic gun. He was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Laminia Holt told investigators she shot her father, the probable-cause statement said.
Assistant prosecuting attorney Courtney Goodwin handled the case.
