A 29-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he drove a car past a checkpoint of an employee-only parking lot at Six Flags, 4900 Six Flags Road, in Eureka and hit a curb. He allegedly had a blood-alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit, Eureka Police reported.
Park security called police at about 6:40 p.m. Oct. 7 after the man, in a 2017 Hyundai Elantra, reportedly drove onto the restricted parking lot. The security guards told the officer they believed they saw a nearly empty bottle of tequila in the car, the report said.
The driver told the officer he was at the park to attend Fright Fest and got turned around trying to find the main entrance. The man appeared intoxicated and failed field tests, according to the report.
The officer arrested the man and transported him to the Police Station, where the driver allegedly registered a .158 percent blood-alcohol content, the report said. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit.
The man was released to a sober driver with a summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged DWI, Lt. Michael Werges said.
