The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the wife of a Dittmer man who was found dead in their home, Sheriff Dave Marshak announced today, Aug. 31.
Investigators are trying to locate Stacy Jay-Malcom after her husband, Robert Malcom, was found dead at about 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, in a home in the 8000 block of Canyon Lane in Dittmer. Robert Malcom was 60, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Marshak said the Sheriff’s Office is treating the investigation as a homicide. However, the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing information about how Robert Malcom died.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said the office was contacted on Saturday, Aug. 30, by someone who was trying to reach Robert Malcom, and the person asked deputies to conduct a wellness check at the home. Bissell said he did not have information about how the person who contacted the Sheriff’s Office knew Robert Malcom.
Deputies went to the home on Canyon Lane at about 1:45 p.m. Saturday, but they found no evidence that would have led to them to force entry into the house, Bissell said
The person who had contacted the Sheriff’s Office went to the home and was able to get inside after the deputies had left. Bissell said that person found Robert Malcom’s body and called the Sheriff’s Office at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about Robert Malcom or the location of Stacy Jay-Malcom to call 636-797-5515.
