Mapaville State School

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft at the Mapaville State School, 3657 Baptist Park Road. An 8-foot trailer worth about $3,500 and a Milwaukee impact hammer valued at about $270 were stolen from the school for students with severe disabilities, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The theft occurred between about 2:30 p.m. April 7 and 9 a.m. April 10. The trailer was parked outside the school when it was stolen, and the hammer was taken from a minivan parked outside the school, the report said.

As of April 27, neither the trailer nor the hammer had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the thefts to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
