A Festus father is searching for his missing teenage daughter.
Timmy Treon said his daughter, Jaiden Treon, 16, ran away from home on June 22 and was reported missing to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office that day.
He said she left in one of the family’s cars that she typically used to get to school and to work at the Pasta House restaurant in Festus.
Treon also said his daughter had a history of running away and had run away on June 21, but St. Louis County Police found her that same day in St. Ann.
“We just need to get eyes out in places,” he said today, Aug. 16.
The Sheriff’s Office asked for help Tuesday, Aug. 15, with its search for Jaiden. In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office said the teen may be in St. Charles County, St. Louis County, the city of St. Louis or Illinois. She is described as white with black hair and hazel eyes. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.
The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about Jaiden to call Detective Andrew Monroe at 636-797-5030.
“Detective Monroe has been investigating and following leads since this case was assigned to him in June,” spokesman Grant Bissell said. “He has been working on tracking down more information across multiple counties. We hope she can be located.”
Treon said he thought his daughter was doing better, and when she turned 16 in May, he and his wife provided her access to the family car, which was seen in St. Peters on July 8.
He said St. Peters Police recovered the car on July 25, and it had many of Jaiden’s belongings inside it, including two pairs of her glasses and contact lenses.
Treon said his daughter may have fled to Illinois and could be in East St. Louis, Swansea or Belleville.
He also said the family is receiving help in their search from Trucks 4 Kidz and the Child Abduction Criminal Task Force, two nonprofit organizations that assist in searches for missing children.
“She has no identification, only the clothes on her back, staying wherever with whomever,” Treon said in a July 31 Facebook post. “Somebody somewhere is going to be the HERO that finds her. Maybe that is YOU – please help us.”
