Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police are investigating the theft of nearly $600 worth of items from a 2008 Honda CR-V that was parked at the commuter lot, 18287 Hwy. 66. The SUV was left unlocked at the lot for two days, police said.

A 34-year-old man and 30-year-old woman, who both do not have listed addresses, called the police at about 2:45 a.m. Nov. 3 to the commuter lot. The two told officers they had left the SUV at the lot before going to Mississippi, the report said.

They said a 10-person Ozark Trail tent, an air mattress, black metal fan, tent vacuum, Ozark Trail lantern and women’s clothes were stolen. The man and woman had receipts for some of the stolen items, and police reported the items were worth $598.58.

As of Nov. 21, none of the items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Brett Grittini said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
