Eureka Police are investigating the theft of items from two unlocked pickups parked in the 18500 block of South Fox Creek Lane. A toolbox, tools, checks and a checkbook reportedly were stolen from the pickups, according to police.
A 55-year-old man and a 58-year-old man, both of Eureka, reported the thefts at about 5:30 a.m. June 7. The men said they had parked their pickups at about 9 p.m. June 6, the report said.
The 55-year-old said a toolbox and tools, together worth about $500, were stolen from his 1992 Ford F-350. The 58-year-old said $1,000 worth of checks and his checkbook were stolen from his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, according to the report.
As of June 19, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the thefts to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
