Arnold Police arrested a 35-year-old Imperial woman for alleged possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after she was spotted sitting behind the wheel of a car parked far from the entrance at the Walmart store, 2201 Michigan Ave. Police became suspicious because it was almost closing time and the 2004 Saturn was parked a long distance from the store even though numerous spots closer to entrance were available.
The woman was arrested at about 10:05 p.m. March 9, after officers checked the license plates and learned she was wanted on numerous warrants. Officers didn’t find anything illegal in the car, but a female officer arrived at the scene and searched the suspect and allegedly found a glass pipe with residue consistent with meth, a glass pipe with residue consistent with marijuana, a bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be meth and a bag containing a green-leafy substance believed to be marijuana, Arnold Police reported.
The suspect was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
