man in handcuffs

A 32-year-old Imperial man wanted on numerous outstanding warrants recently was arrested in Arnold. At 5:06 p.m. Feb. 28, Arnold Police got a call that the man was sleeping on the sidewalk at the U-Gas station, 3611 West Outer Road, and when officers arrived on the scene, they found him there and discovered he was wanted on warrants, Lt. Brian Carroll said.

While the man was at the gas station, he allegedly was asked to leave but refused and cursed at people, Carroll said.

He already was wanted in Arnold for trespassing and resisting arrest stemming from an incident in December 2014, when he was at a Walgreens store and allegedly was threatening customers. Then, when he was being booked at the Arnold Jail, he “became combative” while an officer was removing his handcuffs, Carroll said.

In addition, the suspect was wanted in Arnold for failure to appear in court in July 2015. He also was wanted in St. Louis County for public intoxication and in Jefferson County for failure to appear in court, Carroll said.

The man was issued summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for trespassing and resisting arrest and after he “made suicidal statements,” he was transported to an area hospital for evaluation, Carroll said.
