A 37-year-old Imperial man and a 27-year-old Bucyrus, Ohio, woman were arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of methamphetamine and an assortment of pills. The two were arrested during a traffic stop around 7:50 p.m. June 15 on Old Lemay Ferry Road near Hwy. 141, Arnold Police reported.
An officer pulled over the 2003 Honda Element the two were in because it reportedly didn’t have a front license plate. When the officer checked on the license plate, he discovered it was registered to a different car, a Hyundai, the report said.
In addition, the man who was driving the car didn’t have a driver’s license. The driver also allegedly told the officer there were illegal drugs inside the SUV, according to the report.
An officer searched the Honda and allegedly found a bag that contained various pills, with some identified as Xanax, as well as a crystal-like substance believed to be meth. The man and woman were arrested and taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man and woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Capt. Rich Shular said.
