A 60-year-old Imperial man was issued a ticket for jaywalking at about 7:45 p.m. March 13, after he was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Vogel Road at Elmer Drive near the Home Depot store, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman says.
The man complained that his legs were injured and he was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County for treatment, Arnold Police reported.
The 77-year-old Arnold man who was driving the vehicle that struck the other man did not receive a ticket because it was dark and the victim was wearing dark clothing, making it hard to see him, Ruckman said.
However, the 77-year-old was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Jefferson County for driving with expired license plates, Ruckman said.
Arnold Police took him into custody and held him for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Ruckman said.
