man in handcuffs

A 39-year-old Imperial man was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine after he was found asleep in an SUV parked between two no-parking signs in the 1900 block of Lone Pine Drive. The man was arrested after the Police Department got a call about the 2011 Ford Explorer impeding traffic, police reported.

When officers arrived at about 7:15 a.m. Nov. 4, they found the man asleep in the SUV, and after he woke up and got out of the Explorer, officers allegedly found a plastic bag containing a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth on the driver-side floorboard. They also found a glass smoking pipe in the SUV, the report said.

After the man was arrested, he told officers he was not feeling well, and he was transported to an area hospital, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.
