A 31-year-old House Springs woman recently was arrested for allegedly stealing a wallet from a cab driver who had picked her up in West County and was taking her to House Springs, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman says.
At about 7:45 p.m. April 23, the cab driver stopped at the QT station, 1069 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold to get gas and while he was at the pumps, the woman allegedly stole his wallet, which contained cash and a debit card, Arnold Police reported.
The cab driver noticed the wallet was missing and called police, and when officers arrived, the woman reportedly put the wallet in the bed of a pickup truck parked at the station, Ruckman said.
A customer reported seeing the woman put the wallet in the pickup bed, and officers recovered it and returned it to the owner, Ruckman added.
The woman was booked and then released pending the application for warrants, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek felony stealing charges against her through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Ruckman said.
