Michael Gray, 46, of House Springs was shot and killed Tuesday night, Sept. 13, at a mobile home community north of House Springs and east of Byrnes Mill, and two people of interest in the shooting have been identified, but no one had been arrested as of this morning, Sept. 14, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
No information about the persons of interest is being releasing now because the investigation is ongoing, spokesman Grant Bissell said this morning.
The Sheriff’s Office received a report at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday about multiple gunshots on Mockingbird Hill in the Crest Manor Mobile Home Estate community. Shortly after the initial call, deputies were told a man had been shot, the report said.
When deputies arrived, they found Gray suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his torso area. He was later pronounced dead, according to the report.
Bissell said Gray and the persons of interest knew each other, and the shooting was not a random act. He said the Sheriff’s Office does not know what led to the shooting.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 636-797-5515 or the Jefferson County 911 Dispatch’s non-emergency line at 636-797-9999 and ask to speak with a Sheriff’s Office supervisor.
