man in handcuffs

A 21-year-old House Springs man was arrested after he allegedly stole a Domino’s Pizza delivery woman’s car outside the restaurant at 1655 Old Hwy. 141 in unincorporated Fenton. The suspect and the car were found the next day in Imperial, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At about 9:45 p.m. Jan. 28, the man allegedly took a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, which had the woman’s purse in it, after she had gone into the restaurant to pick up a delivery order. The 32-year-old Fenton woman said she had left her car running, but she locked the doors and had another key fob with her to get back in, the report said.

At about 2:45 p.m. Jan. 29, deputies found the Impala parked outside a home in the 3300 block of Dale Drive. The man who allegedly took the car was at the home and was arrested, according to the report.

He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for tampering, spokesman Grant Bissell said.

The car was returned to the woman, the report said.
