A Hillsboro teenager’s cell phone allegedly was stolen when she met a group of men outside an Arnold restaurant after arranging to sell it to one of them. The theft happened about 4:15 p.m. Nov. 7 in the parking lot at 54th Street Grill and Bar, 2236 Michigan Ave., Arnold Police reported.

The 17-year-old told police she had arranged to sell her iPhone 11 for $900 through Facebook and agreed to meet the buyer outside the restaurant. When she arrived there, four men met her in the parking lot, and one of the men allegedly implied he had a gun, took her phone, and then the men then left in a gray pickup, the report said.

As of Nov. 12, the phone had not been recovered, and none of the men had been identified, Capt. Rich Shular said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.

Shular advises people who arrange to sell an item over the internet to meet they buyers outside the Arnold Police Station, 2101 Jeffco Blvd.

“We know we have good video outside the Police Department,” he said.
