A construction trailer stolen Dec. 8 in Hillsboro was still missing today (Dec. 20) and police are seeking the public’s help in recovering it, Hillsboro Police Chief Charles Bennett reports.

He said the trailer was loaded with tools and has an overall estimated value of $17,000,

“It was parked along St. Charles Drive at a work site in Brickyard Estates,” Bennett said. “It was taken about 5:30 a.m. We know this because it was caught on video by a nearby home security camera. A truck can be seen pulling up next to it, but all you can tell is it’s a truck.”

Bennett said the construction trailer is extremely important to the victim.

“It’s an enclosed Doolittle trailer,” he said. “It’s got heavy construction equipment. It was full of stepladders, nail guns, all sorts of construction equipment. This is the man’s business and (the theft) has just about put him out of business.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Hillsboro Police at 636-797-5229, ext. 1108.
