woman in handcuffs

A 51-year-old High Ridge woman was arrested today (Jan. 27) in connection with the death of Vincent S. White, 50, of High Ridge. The death is considered a homicide, said Capt. Gary Higginbotham of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

He said the woman and White knew each other.

The arrest happened not long after authorities named White as the man whose human remains were found Jan. 10 in a burn pile at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Chouteau Claim Access Area near the confluence of the Meramec and Bourbeuse rivers, authorities reported.

White apparently had been dismembered and only some parts of his body were among the remains found at the access area, said Higginbotham, who also is deputy commander with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis, which is handling the investigation into the homicide.

He said DNA samples were used to identify the man.

Higginbotham said it looked like the remains had been at the site for a couple of days before they were discovered.

He said “multiple possible charges” are likely to be sought against the woman, but he didn’t know where the charges would be filed.

“Jurisdictional boundaries are being determined,” Higginbotham said this evening.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Major Case Squad at 636-797-5515.
