Festus Police are investigating the theft of a heavy-duty jack from a truck parked outside the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 1302 Gamel Cemetery Road. The jack belonged to a guest staying at the hotel, who discovered it missing after he woke up May 8, Chief Tim Lewis said.
“(The theft) was reported at about 5:45 a.m. at the Holiday Inn,” Lewis said. “The victim is a man, 35, from Tonganaxie, Kan. He parked his 2012 Dodge 3500 truck about 7 p.m. (May 7). He noticed the jack stolen around 5:30 a.m.”
Lewis said the Porta Power jack was valued at $500. As of May 8, the jack had not been recovered. Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
