A purse with a gun inside it recently was stolen from an unlocked car while it was parked outside Melvin Brewing Eureka, 110 Hilltop Village Center Drive. Together, the purse and gun were valued at about $730, Eureka Police reported.
A 51-year-old Webster Groves woman said she parked outside the brewery and pub at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 and when she returned to her car at 7 p.m., the purse and the purple and silver Smith and Wesson EZ Shield 380 gun were gone. She said she locked the car’s driver-side door but not the passenger-side door, which does not lock automatically, the report said.
As of Nov. 4, neither the purse nor the gun had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
