The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a gun and other items from a car parked outside a home on Birch Drive in Imperial. The theft occurred between 11 p.m. April 26 and 6 a.m. April 27, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
A black 9mm Sig Sauer 938 gun and charging cables were stolen from a 2010 Toyota Camry parked along the street. The victim told deputies he believed he had locked the car doors, but there were no signs of forced entry, the report said.
The victim said the gun was locked in the trunk, and the cables were in the front of the car. The gun is valued at $800, and the cables have a combined value of $1, according to the report.
As of May 5, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
