The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent burglary at a home in the 3000 block of Carol Lane in High Ridge, where a gun, jewelry and money was stolen.

The burglary occurred between 5:05 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15, while the victim was away, The Sheriff’s Office reported.

Stolen items included a Bersa .380 handgun, four rings and two Mason jars full of quarters, the report said.

In all, the items were valued at $1,330, according to the report.

A witness told deputies she saw someone trying to get inside the home during the time the burglary occurred, the report said.

As of Friday (Oct. 23), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
