A golf bag and clubs recently were stolen from an unsecured garage at a home in the 1100 block of Alexander Drive, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.
The theft was reported May 11, but the clubs could have been stolen as long as a week earlier, Lewis said.
“A golf bag was reported stolen from a garage where they’d left the door up all night,” he said. “Nothing else was taken. They said they also left the garage door open about a week before but didn’t notice the golf clubs stolen until May 11. They’re not sure when it happened.”
The golf bag and clubs were valued at about $1,000, Lewis said.
He cautions people about not securing their possessions.
“It goes back to don’t leave your doors open, don’t leave your cars unlocked,” he said.
Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
