Eureka Police are investigating gunshots that damaged a detached garage and broke a light fixture at a home in the 5600 block of Hunters Ford Road. No one was injured, but the gunshots caused about $600 in damage to the garage and light fixture, police reported.
A 64-year-old Eureka man reported the damage at about 3 p.m. Feb. 13. He told officers he had heard what he thought may have been gunshots at about 6 p.m. Feb. 9 but had not noticed the holes in his garage until four days later, the report said.
The officers reported seeing 15 holes, likely caused by bullets, on the garage door but only found four holes where they believe bullets exited the garage. The officers did not find any casings in the garage, according to the report.
As of Feb. 27, no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the damage to the garage to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
