A fire destroyed a Hillsboro mobile home and displaced the residents, authorities reported.
Hillsboro Fire Chief Brian Gaudet said his department receive a call about 10:45 a.m. May 10 about a fire in the 6300 block of Klondike Road.
He said the residence was normally occupied, but no residents were at home during the incident.
“Crews arrived at a single-wide mobile home that had heavy smoke and fire showing,” he said. “They quickly instituted an interior attack.”
The residents must obtain other permanent housing, he said.
“It was a total loss,” Gaudet said. “The fire did enough damage to the interior that it could not be repaired. The Red Cross was called to assist them.”
Firefighters remained on scene until approximately 1:20 p.m., he said.
“The cause is undetermined, but not suspicious,” Gaudet said.
The De Soto Fire Department and the Mapaville, Goldman and Cedar Hill fire districts, as well as Valle Ambulance, assisted Hillsboro on the call, he said.
